Body Recovered Following Overnight Search for Possible Drowning at Floyd County’s Armuchee Park

FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. – A search for a possible drowning at Armuchee Park in Floyd County late Monday night ended with the recovery of a body, according to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency crews responded to Armuchee Park on Jones Mill Road after reports of a possible drowning and conducted an active search of the area. During the operation, authorities asked the public to avoid the park so emergency personnel could safely carry out search and rescue efforts.

Later that night, the sheriff’s office confirmed that emergency crews had located the body of an individual.

The scene remained active overnight as investigators and other appropriate agencies continued their work. Officials said the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office thanked the public for its cooperation and extended its thoughts and prayers to the individual’s family.

No additional information has been released as the investigation continues.
