If you were out there Friday night at Barron Stadium and saw the battle between two powerhouse programs in the 7A Carrollton Trojans and the 6A Rome Wolves then you just knew what kind of battle it really was. Seeing the final score didn’t do justice of how good this game really was. The first quarter of the battle ended in a 0-0 quarter going into the second quarter. The top QB prospect in the Nation for the 2026 class Julian “JuJu” Lewis had only 33 pass yards the entire first half going into halftime. The Rome defensive line was as good as it could possibly be as far as putting pressure on the dynamic quarterback for Carrollton. Rome offensively would drive the ball down the field with ease multiple times throughout the game only to come up short within a yard out three times out the entire game. Reece Fountain threw for 337 yards while DK Daniel racked in 140 yards receiving and a touchdown and Rome receiver Nick Hester racked up 145 yards receiving and a touchdown. Rome can really take away from this loss to the rival Carrollton because they did so much good in this matchup. It’s going to be hard for any other team to be able to contain this Rome Wolves team moving forward due to what they were able to reel off against the high powered Trojans. Though the score was a 33-13 final, the game was much more exciting with both talented programs going at each other play after play the entire game. Rome will be at home once again to host another 7A opponent in the Pebblebrook Falcons.

Kickoff will be at 7:30pm at Historic Barron Stadium.
