Rome Romps Woodstock To Move 2-0 In
Region Play

Rome Wolves are on a fast start to region play and they don’t seem like they are
going to let up anytime soon.
The Wolves started firing immediately on offense putting together a quick
touchdown drive the first series of the game.
The drive finished with Rome RB Javarious McDearmont rushing for a 2 yard TD
to make it 7-0 Rome.
The next drive for the Wolves came with a 2 yard run by the other standout Rome
RB Chance Arthur to make the score 14-0.
Rome would then take it through the air on the next drive going up 21-0 with a 24
yard TD pass from Rome QB Reece Fountain to Rome WR Nic Hester.
Rome kicker, Jacob Fisher would come out on the field the next drive to help the
Wolves go up 24-0 with a 30 yard FG.
Rome would be aggressive and not let up by going in the air again to go up 31-0
with a 39 yard TD pass from Fountain to Braijon Jackson. Jackson would catch
the ball and make a few moves and break a tackle to stroll into the endzone.
Defensively, Rome DE Justin Terrell returned a fumble 12 yards for a 38-0 lead.
Rome would look back to the run game and Javarious McDermont and
McDermont would take it in for 2 yard TD to go up 45-0 with 10:41 remaining in
the second quarter.
Joseph Butts would get his turn and turn it into a 49 yard scamper into the
endzone for 6. Rome would then go up 52-0 in the second quarter.
Woodstock’s QB Peyton Lynch took the second half by storm coming out by
threading the needle to his receiver Luke Renniger for a 19 yard TD. To cut the
lead slightly to 52-7.
After the Woodstock TD, Rome would throw another jab on the kickoff for a
touchdown return by D.K. Daniel in which Rome would then go up 59-7.
The final would be Rome 59 Woodstock 7.
Key stats and plays of the game:
Reece Fountain was 9-of-13 passing for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
DeKaylon Daniel returned a kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown in the fourth
quarter.
Justin Terrell returned a fumble 12 yards.
Rome will travel to region foe Sequoyah to take on the Chiefs.
Kick off will be at 7:30pm.
