From GHSA basketball phenom to NCAA National Champion, former Model Lady Blue Devil Victaria Saxton’s basketball career is something right out of a movie.

The NCAA Womens Basketball National Championship game was held tonight in Minneapolis, Minnesota and featured two historic programs in Uconn and South Carolina. The University of South Carolina came away with a dominant 64-49 victory and captured their second National Title.

Victaria Saxton was a major contributor to the Gamecocks national title run, putting up solid numbers every time she took the floor. Voted a team captain by her teammates for the third straight year, Saxton averaged 6 points, 6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks on 20.5 minutes per game in her senior season. In the National Title game against Uconn, she had 6 points, 5 rebounds (all offensive rebounds) and 2 steals. Congratulations Victaria, you’ve made all of Rome, Georgia proud!
