The Rome Wolves didn’t hesitate to score as soon as they arrived on campus of
the Woodstock Wolverines. The offense would score nearly every possession
while the defense held Woodstock scoreless.
Rome has done a tremendous job this season spreading the ball around to
different players. Each player has made a huge play when the Wolves needed it.
Spreading the ball around makes it very difficult for defenses to game plan
because they have no clue who may end of with the ball. Each player who
touches the ball for the Wolves can also take it the distance for a touchdown at
any given moment.
The Wolves put that on display in region play Friday night versus the Wolverines.
Rome struck quickly with a 9-yard TD run from Rome running back Jaedon
Harmon with 11:12 remaining in the first quarter. The first dried would take five
players on a quick offensive drive that resulted in the score to make it 7-0. The
Wolves would force a turnover on Woodstocks first possession. Due to the forced
turnover, Rome would take over the ball again and punch a score very fast with
Rome running back Jaedon Harmon punching the ball in for his back-to-back
touchdowns in the first quarter.
The Wolves would not slow down. They would score back to back offensive
touchdowns while adding on defensive touchdowns from Vandy commit, Martel
Hight. Hight would find the end zone in many different ways in the game. Hight
had a punt return for a touchdown, interception, and even offensive touchdowns.
The defense was fabulous as usual. However, they were flawless by not allowing
hardly any yardage but held the Wolverines scoreless. Tyson Brown was
dominate as always making plays alongside of his defensive line teammates JT
Terrell and Stephiylan Green. Tyson Brown continues to add on to his eye
popping stats so far this season. Look for Brown to build on his momentum of
dominance these next several games. The Wolves starting defense would rest
up early in this contest.
Rome would have a 56-0 lead in the second quarter alone before going into
halftime. The Wolves would continue their dominance until the clock hit zero. The
final score would be 70-0.
Rome will be back at home for homecoming as they will host region opponent
Sequoyah. The Chiefs are 2-0 in region play beating then undefeated RiverRidge
who is also in the region mix.
Kick off will be at 7:30pm at Historic Barron Stadium in Rome, Georgia.
